Use the VA's Veteran Decision Aid for Care at Home or in the Community assessment to help figure out what home care services or long term care services may best meet you or your loved one's needs now or in the future.
The Veterans Community Care Program (VCCP or VCC), managed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), allows eligible Veterans to receive care from community providers outside the VA healthcare system. Qualifying Veterans can use the program to fully or partially cover their care depending on the number of hours allotted by the VA. For more information, visit our page: How the Veteran's Community Care Program Can Help You.
The Veterans Aid and Attendance (A&A) Program is an additional monetary benefit provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to eligible veterans and their surviving spouses who require assistance with daily living due to disability or aging. This benefit is supplemental to the VA Pension or Survivor Pension. For more information, visit our page: How the Veteran's Aid and Attendance Program Can Help You.
Using the Veterans Community Care Program, the VA allots a specific number of hours they will fully cover to each Veteran depending on their care needs. If an eligible Veteran requires more care, they can use the Aid and Attendance Program to help cover expenses for those additional hours.
The Aid and Attendance Program also applies to eligible Veteran's surviving spouses. Spouses can use the program to help cover the cost of in-home caregivers.
